Each time used to calculate the average is defined as the time of patient registration at the ER until the time a patient is greeted by a qualified medical professional. The North Bay Regional Health Centre said in the early days of the pandemic, many providers moved to virtual visits to ensure the safety of their patients, staff and themselves. The ER wait time as shown is calculated using a 4 hour rolling average which is updated every 15 minutes. The North Bay Regional Health Centre is warning the public that patients coming into the emergency department with non-urgent concerns could face wait times of several hours.
